The Loss Of Danny Gans

Danny Gans (1956-2009)

We mourn the loss of one of our church family, Danny Gans who went to be with Jesus early this morning. We are shocked at the tragic, sudden loss of a great husband, father and entertainer. I ask that all of our church family pray for Danny's family during this most tragic time. We know that God is the one that can bring comfort to his family and friends.

Dear Brother Benny: The first second I heard about Danny, I was shocked but the very next second, I remembered that Danny Gans was a Child of the King - he made no secret of that and from living in LV for 36 years, it was widespread knowledge FROM BROTHER DANNY WHO HE SERVED. I therefore know without doubt that he is now with Our Lord & Savior and my prayers go out to his wife, children, family and friends that The Lord will comfort them and keep them in His Loving Arms during their time of shock and grief. With no forewarning, no illness, no way to "get ready" - The Lord took him home and I have been through such a loss and I know how hard it is and I know it takes time and love of family and friends and his church family & Pastor to get through such a traumatic event, so I really want to express my feelings about the loss of such a wonderful man who was loved by so many and who never ever denied HIS LORD AND SAVIOR. With love and prayers, Carol Garrity

We share in your grief on the passing of a fellow Jesus follower. Our prayers go out to his wife, children, and everyone who knew him. While we have never met him in person, we have benefited from his generosity in the Junior Golf Academy that my children participated in for several years. He will be missed.

My mother passed away suddenly, without warning, the day after I visited her only to find she was sleeping. I left without kissing her. This taught me always to tell the ones you love how important they are because you never know when they will be called away. I pray for the family and friends Danny Gans leaves behind, that they draw strength from the love they share.

While it is sad for the family and friends of Danny Gans it is also a time to celebrate his glorious arrival in heaven where he now rests from his earthly sojourn. The time we have on earth is short and we never know when we will be called home. It is best to spend our time here serving our Lord Jesus Christ. I pray comfort to those who he has left behind.

Sincerely,

Don & I had the pleasure of meeting Danny Gans a few years back. We had been invited to his show and meet him in his dressing room. Danny was very friendly and kind and had a great sprirt about him. Danny truly loved the Lord and would often call a pastor friend of ours to pray for him prior to his show. We were shocked by his sudden death but in our hearts we know that Danny is with our King. We join you in praying for his wife Julie and their three children that God will comfort them and help them through this.

Sincerely,

Don & Lupe Ross

I work at the Encore/Wynn and am a fellow Christian myself. I really must say losing Mr. Gans was like loosing a family member. Which is so and very true, because we are all brothers and sisters in this world. I know in my heart and we must realize that he is with our Lord Jesus Christ and this just an example of much our father in heaven comforts us when in the time of pain and suffering from lost loved ones. My heart and prayers go out to Mrs. Gans and their children and the rest of their family members. May God bless the Gans family always.

My husband and I are devout believers and in the many times that we have been in Vegas - it so touched our hearts that our Lord was working on the strip through Danny's witness. I truly believe what is a tragedy - the Lord will turn to good for his glory. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I was busy with my weekend of military reserve duty when my wife broke the news to me and I felt my heart sag for a moment. Though I never happened to meet Danny or cross his path at church, I feel like I've lost a precious member of my family. But I know and can rest in the fact the he did not die. He simply was transported into life everlasting which is the greatest reward ever. I pray that God will pour out His peace and comfort upon Danny's family. I truly am greatful that my wife and I were able to see his show here on earth a few years ago and I look forward to seeing his heavenly show in the future. God bless you Danny Gans.

Years ago, a family friend felt led by God to help Danny Gans. He sponsored his Broadway show back in the 1990's and from there Danny went on to be HUGE! I met him when he wasn't so big. Both of us have sons named Andrew, that became the first thing we talked about when we met in early 1990‘s. My father was a minister, my husband is also a minister although at the time he wasn't anything- he was a devout atheist who mocked any and everyone who was foolish enough to believe in Christ. Danny had the heart of a shepherd. Quietly, simply he shared his story. Great career in baseball, anger when he was hurt, then finding that God was simply directing him onto another path, the path that was the RIGHT path. The most amazing thing was that he told us this story BEFORE Las Vegas, before Broadway, before anyone hardly knew him. He still knew he was on the path he was called to be on. Shortly after my son Andrew was born, my husband became a Christian, not many years after he became a minister and a pastor. John today, sites Danny as one of the most sincere humble and influential person he's met and says he was someone who opened his eyes to the Lord.

My teenage daughter, Jordan has Cystic Fibrosis. (Even though she was only 5 she still remembers seeing Danny perform in Atlanta!) Last year she almost died. Why she did not is not something I will never be able to answer. One year ago on May 10 (2008) Jordan had a double lung transplant. Her life is great today, but lung transplant patients only live a few years after transplant. They give Jordan another Christmas and then.... who knows but God. Death is something I have though about for her entire life. I have come to the conclusion that there must be people that God misses so much that He has to call them early to come Home just to be with Him. It comforts me to know that God knows when we will be born and when we will go Home to be with Him. Danny is a HUGE loss for those of us left here and I am SO sorry for his wife and three children! Our loss was God’s gain! I When Danny stepped thru the door to Heaven he was met with a "Well Done My Child!" Many, may people came to know the Lord because of Danny Gans. I hope that is the legacy his children take with them, not that he was famous, or wealthy, or for all the awards he received. I hope they take with them the Danny that always talked about his faith, always walked his faith, told his story and ministered for the Lord. He will be missed!

I was so saddened to hear the news about Danny. What I will always remember is his eyes that always reflected the love of the Lord. It is rare to find someone who has a presence and radiates the spirit of the Lord in all they do. He will be missed on this earth, but I take great comfort in knowing I will see him in the kingdom someday. I pray that God surround his wife and family with peace, comfort and courage during this this time.
